U.S. ARMY HOSPITAL CAR BRAKE REHAB AND SHIPMENT
The U.S. Army Transportation Museum in Fort Eustis, VA entrusted the mechanical rehabilitation and movement of the last hospital car built in 1953 for the Army to ATOM rail. We completely rebuilt the brake system, and preformed all necessary repairs to permit the car to travel on the mainline to ATOM Rail's Winnsboro facility for restoration.
CROSS CHARLOTTE TRAIL RAIL REMOVAL
ATOM Rail was contracted to dismantle and remove approximately 2,000ft of industrial spur and sidings, to make way for a walking trail in Charlotte, NC. ATOM Rail was brought in due to the complexity of disassembling railroad track and the special tools and skills required.
RERAILING EQUIPMENT AND REPAIRING THE TRACK
ATOM Rail was called out to re-rail a locomotive and flatcar. This was a difficult job to do, as it was in a curve and had spread the rails. With it also occurring under high tension power lines, cranes were not an option. Our team made quick work of rerailing the equipment and repairing the track, getting the customer back in business in just a few hours.
SHIPMENT OF US AIR FORCE LOCOMOTIVE
ATOM Rail handled the loading, securement, shipping, tracking, and unloading of a 1952 GE 80 ton locomotive, moved from Shaw AFB, SC to Fort Eustis, VA to continue to serve in the military, even at 70 years old.
